So, Kanik went in for his blood work and next round of chemo yesterday morning and found out he needed a blood transfusion (his blood count was very low). Kanik spent all day waiting for the transfusion and finally received it late last night, so was still in the hospital this morning. (The actual transfusion takes several hours to complete.) Adam, John and Andrea all spent time with Kanik in the hospital and he's holding up, despite the sudden change of plans and LONG wait for the transfusion.
Obviously, this fourth chemo session has been postponed and we should learn more in the next day or so about what happens next. We'll be sure to keep you posted.
In the meantime, keep those calls, texts, letters, emails and faxes of support coming to Kanik.
